Here’s a fairly accurate video detailing the average costs, money and time wise, that we pay for our kids to play travel baseball. Watching this, I was thinking, “no wonder our friends whose kids aren’t into sports think we’re nuts.”
But we’re not nuts. Our kids love it. And we love it. The friendships, learning experiences, time together, being part of a team and community of families far out-weigh the costs.
For those of you who think that we travel ball parents are dragging our kids from ballpark to ballpark, forcing them to live our childhood dreams, while they just want to be kids….Well, nothing could be further from the truth (at least among the families we know). There’s no way in purgatory we’d spend that much time and money on something our kids didn’t absolutely love and beg to do.
Okay, enough of the soapbox. What do you think of the video? Accurate?
